Great Library of Nehereseth
Part temple and place of worship, part library and collection of immense knowledge. The great library of Nehereseth is an ode to the crocodile faced god of knowledge, Nehereseth.
It is located in the Divine Court district of Sul Nahal. The library has several entrances that lead to either the halls of worship, the halls of knowledge or the housing complex.
Purpose / Function
The great library serves two main purposes.
First of all, the library contains an immense collection of tomes, scrolls, tablets and all other forms of writing and containers of knowledge. All subjects are represented; from agriculture to obscure creatures of the multiverse. Scholars from all around Artha visit the library to study its secrets.
It is said that the library even houses secret underground chambers that hold obscure, controversial and secret knowledge even the priests do not know about.
Its second purpose is to provide a magnificent place of worship to Nehereseth, a major deity in the Children of Sawari-Ra religion. Part of the library is a great hall of worship where the devout gather to attend sermons and pray. Side chambers act as classrooms where priests and scholars teach all sorts of subjects to those willing to donate.
Priests live in and around the temple and teach, study and pray here. Various small observatories adorn the temple roof, small courtyards around the temple and its housing complex allow the priests to grow various flora and fungi.
Architecture
The library is built in typical Sekhmet architecture. Large columns and statues of divine creatures and Nehereseth himself adorn the many hallways. Brightly coloured murals and hieroglyphs adorn the walls and pillars.
