Children of Sawari-Ra

The Children of Sawari-Ra is a religion mostly found in Al-Achnon as their state-religion. The pre-state tribes of the Kahaan desert laid foundations to this religion that combines traditional polyteistic beliefs with animism and scientific approaches.   The children became gods whose domains now also span their respective animal aspects and as such, these animals are worshipped as aspects of their god.

Structure

The Children of Sawari-Ra has no structure of its own. It is a collection of Temples devoted to the various gods and deities of the religion, each with their own hierarchial structure.

Mythology & Lore

Ancient sacred texts tell a story that the gods were children of the Titans or Elder Gods, beings older than time and space and alien to reality. One of these Titan is named Sawari-Ra, a dreadful giant being with an unsatiable hunger. According to the ancient texts, the children of Sawari-Ra were so afraid of their creator, that they disguised themselves as Arthan animals so that their father could not find them.   The children became gods whose domains now also span their respective animal aspects and as such, these animals are worshipped as aspects of their god.

Ethics

Polygamy

Polygamy is part of sekhmet's upper society as dictated by the faith. The wealthy and noble men are encouraged to marry multiple wives. Children of wives are legible for inheritance while children born to concubines are generally not legible. Wealthy polygamist men often maintain harems where the wives, concubines and other female servants reside often served by eunuchs.   While some faithful of the lower classes practice polygamy, most marry only a single wife.

Political Influence & Intrigue

As official religion of the Federal Monarchy of Al Achnon, tenets of the faith play a major role in politics on this nation. The Sultan of the federation is considered the representation of Achnon-Ankh on Artha and thus, his words are divine.
