The Mellow Tear Bracelets
The mellow tear bracelet is a powerful tool for a dark arcana caster to use when they have a habit of losing control of their powers. Dark casters are rare, so the use of these bracelets is rare and commonly gives false interpretations to people. When a dark caster is captured and given a trial due to their uncontrollable powers, they are forced to wear the bracelets as punishment for their crimes.
Appearance
The bracelet is made out of obsidian, a stone with archaic depictions of protection, able to absorb the negative energy that dark arcana releases. Spikes are lined along the outer edge of the bracelet, only sliding through small holes to pierce the skin of the dark caster if they go below a certain percentage of arcana -- usually 25 percent. A moonstone in the shape of a teardrop is centered in the middle of the bracelet and helps to promote balance in the dark caster. Most who don't know what the bracelet represents see it as a beautiful piece of jewelry, and those who do know what the bracelet entails fear its power.Arcane Effect
The bracelet is enchanted with powerful spells that negate dark arcana, keeping the dark casters from breaking code and causing more destruction. Percentage changes can occur if the caster continues to misuse the device with some reaching as low as five percent of their arcana. The bracelet also channels energy into the body, pressuring the caster into being unable to access their arcana past a certain point.History
In mid-1824 EoS, a dark caster lost control of his arcana and lashed out, destroying over half a town. When the public heard about such an endeavor, they banded together to capture the caster and turn him over to authorities. The caster was imprisoned and given the death sentence despite showing great remorse and begging for his powers to be sealed away. Riots broke out among casters with and without dark arcana, claiming the death sentence to be unjustifiable. Questions were brought up about how dangerous dark arcana could be, but how it was also very useful when needing to get the job done.
The Corruption Control Bureau was founded in late 1824 EoS with Chief Landoon running the headquarters. As Chief Landoon heard from all sides, she came to the tough decision that dark arcana wasn't as dangerous as people believed. She asked the Circle of Enthari to bring a set of powerful casters in to help create a piece of jewelry that could suppress dark arcana.
In early 1825 EoS, the mellow tear bracelet was created. At first, the bracelet was looked down upon by dark casters, but after a few more incidents with explosive reactions from dark arcana, the dark casters saw the usefulness of such a device and accepted Chief Landoon's mercy.

Riley Warrick wears the bracelet as a chaos arcana caster, a subclass of dark arcana. He never once went to trial for his abilities, but after being subjected to manipulative tactics by his family and former home, Riley has grown accustomed to fearing his arcane powers. He petitioned for the Corruption Control Bureau to give him a set of bracelets that target one percent of his arcana. Riley uses these bracelets as a means to feel safe after losing control and causing his father to fall through melting glass and land in a thorny bush and get a broken leg. His fear of his arcana leaves him with the unsinkable feeling that he'll get someone killed if he continues using such horrid arcane tricks.Table of Contents
