Drakenswift
The Drakenswift is a mountain river that has its source in the high peaks of the Balnoque Spine, somewhere north of Drakenham. It flows down from the mountains for some 100 miles until it reaches the waters of the Painted Pool.
The waters of the Drakenswift are icy cold, far too cold to drink, as it is fed by the melting ice of the mountain peaks.
The river is far too fast-flowing and shallow, with many falls along its length, to allow navigation by boat or raft, though it offers unparalleled salmon fishing during the right season. The Drakenswift supports a thriving ecosystem of hardy fish and water plants, and all kinds of highland animals rely on its waters.
