Arceaus Longthorn
The Grand Monstorsity Arceaus Longthorn
Arceaus? Yeah, he was alright, a bit on the odd side but aren't we all? He liked to read all these books and such. Never really did understand him, but he helped me save the world so he can't be all that bad.Arceaus Longthorn is an elven warlock and member of the adventuring party Fate's Bane. He is known for his magical ability and his role in the demise of Lady Fate worshiped afterward as the God of Chaos, the Grand Monstrosity.-Isac Arno Obenslauter
Divine Domains
Arceaus represents unnaturally created or mutated creatures, derived from the many strange physical features Arceaus had accumulated. To a minor degree, Arceaus holds influence on magical domains as monstrosities are also seen (usually from the perspective of their creators) as scientific or magical achievements.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
The symbol of the monstrosity are three heads, a dragon, a vampire, and a devil, surrounded by a circle of chain.
Physical Description
Body Features
Arceaus's tail, a conduit to his pact, is thick at its base but thins out towards its pointed tip. While scales matching the color of his stark white hair dotted his body, protecting him from certain kinds of physical damage. His vampiric features are more subtle, retractable fangs along with his eyes changing color (gone noticed by most because elves typically have bizarre eye colors).
Special abilities
With the use of arcane focuses, Arceaus was able to summon powers from the devil attached to him to assist him in combat, as well as other situations where magic may be necessary. He also gained the use of vampirism, which allowed him to consume the blood of others to heal him.
Apparel & Accessories
All students of the Library of Silentia are given uniforms, Arceaus of which kept wearing throughout his time in Hell and with Fate's Bane. The burned or tattered parts of his uniform were repaired with studded leather or covered up with a cloak that protected him from the sunlight.
Specialized Equipment
Arceaus had come to collect many magical items to add to his arsenal, most notably Ina. Ina was a golden-rimmed book with a large blue gem in the center of its front cover. Ina shared its name and personality with its creator, giving Arceaus all her knowledge she once had. Arceaus had also gained the ring of pestilence, which was able to summon a white horse and a white bow that increased the power of his magical projectiles, turning them into arrows.

Personal history
Arceaus Longthorn was born on the 1st of Late-Fall, 69 A.G. in a small village in Silentia. He grew up as an only child and didn't have many friends, strengthening his bond with Gary Groudon when he met him during his time as a student at the Library of Silentia.
Arceaus and Gary were sent to hell alive when the library was destroyed, forced to travel down each layer until they could escape. Tragedy continued when the two were camping outside of the 8th layer's gate. Gary was killed by a demon protecting the gate while the two were sleeping. After defeating the murderous demon, Arceaus falls desperate and is exploited by a devil who convinces him to sign a contract to allow Arceaus to be free of Hell for his soul once he returns as a dead man.
Free of Hell and aware of the mistake he made signing the contract, Arceaus began searching for someone or something to allow him to be freed of his contract. This quest eventually leads him to the kingdom of Vuruesis in search of a priest. While in the city of Glesa, he is kidnapped by pirates along with the first members of Fate's Bane Faruk and Corrin.
During the early days of Fate's Bane, the devil Arceaus made the contract with reappeared. He admits to Arceaus that the contract went awry and he had accidentally attached himself to Arceaus. Now both Arceaus and the devil (which Arceaus inappropriately names Gary) wanted to be rid of their contract. Gary tells Arceaus of a woman who broke a contract without suffering its horrendous consequences and suggests looking for her.
Arceaus finds this woman, Alfleta Bexely, while in Aekminur. Unknowingly, the real Alfelta Bexely was replaced with a clone created by Lady Fate so Alfleta was first seen as an enemy of the party. This clone Alfleta had passed her vampirism to Arceaus, forcing him into a number of trials before he could leave the city in an attempt to leave Fate's Bane and help Lady Fate. Fate's Bane eventually defeats clone Alfleta, and the real Alfleta Bexely joins the party after the destruction of her mansion.
Gary and Arceaus are eventually reunited at the end of the War of Eethill, Gary possessing a golem belonging to Urmany. In the coming months, Arceaus is able to resurrect Gary, who had joined Fate's Warriors and kills Corrin. He was angry at Arceaus for not using the devil's deal to bring him back to life, and that anger eventually evolved into madness as Gary spent millions of years in Limbo while it felt like mere years since Arceaus last saw him. The last time Arceaus saw Gary was at the steps of Fate's Palace where he was forced to banish him back into Limbo before he could cause any more damage.
After the events of Fate's Warriors, Arceaus gained godhood, becoming the Grand Monstrosity. The devil Gary had been destroyed by Fate's Light resulting in Arceaus's loss of mortal power. He traveled back to Dragon's Keep to help raise his lover's twins in peace.
Education
Arceaus studied at the Library of Silentia for years before it was destroyed, he however was only able to get by with the help of Gary Groudon. The library barely contributed to Arceaus's skill in spellcraft but certainly played a role in his relationship with magic, allowing him to easily adapt to new abilities and learn how to use them effectively.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Arceaus was originally driven by his want of breaking off his pact. Joining Fate's Bane however was caused by the fear of the Universe's destruction at the hands of Lady Fate.
Personality Quirks
The ability to fluently explain something is lost on Arceus, who commonly had to explain complicated matters but couldn't do so without referencing other similar subjects. In other words, Arceaus, though completely unintentional, is a mansplaner.
Social
Contacts & Relations
Like most members of Fate's Bane, Arceaus gained a wide range of allies during the events of Fate's Warriors. Those closer to Arceaus than the other members would be Alfleta Bexely, Vir Graveborn, and a lich by the name of Zolothan.
Zolothan was a member of Fate's Warriors but found offense to Lady Fate's false sense of superiority over him, eventually leading him to contact Arceaus (who had found an item stolen from him) and made a deal: the item for Zolothan's help with defeating Lady Fate. Zolothan gave the party details of the other members of Fate's Warriors as well as their whereabouts.
Family Ties
When Arceaus joined Fate's Bane he met a king's guard of Dragon's Keep named Vir Graveborn. The two had sexual relations and both gained romantic attraction, though Vir refused to show it because he was already happily married to his wife, Ann Graveborn. Vir and Ann eventually had twins who Arceaus went on to raise after Vir's death during the Angelic Invasion.
Arceaus was an only child, his only known blood being his two parents who he lost contact with in Silentia.
Hobbies & Pets
Before setting off to Iterlin, Arceaus purchased a Mastiff who he named Gary. The dog Gary, unfortunately, died at the hands of the Warrior of Fate Azreal, whom Arceaus almost immediately took revenge on. During his time in the Kingdoms of Fey, he reunited with the ghost of dog Gary, who gifted him an ivory statue that could summon dog Gary whenever Arceaus called for him.
