Elf

A devastating war filled the fey realm, and a people called Tall Fairies escaped to the Mortal Realm after losing their homes. Centuries pass while living among humans, making the Tall Fairies evolve into the elves that walk around the Barren during the awakened generation.

Anatomy

Elves look much like humans, the difference being that their eyes and hair can be many different colors (determined seemingly randomly and rarely based on genetics), as well as having slightly pointed ears with shaped irises (such as squares, stars, or snowflakes) and skin irregularities.
Elves that live outside of cities tend to adapt features similar to the nature around them. For example, elves that live in forests are born with skin colored and textured like the nearest tree.

Growth Rate & Stages

With a lifespan of just over a century, elves stay physically active until their last few weeks. They may not share agelessness like their ancestors, but over the years an elf's appearance will cease to age. For example, an infant elf will look their age but an 80-year-old elf will look like they're in their 40s.
