Requian Empire
After the tyrannical dragons are imprisoned the coast was left in a economic depression as the hoards of stolen treasure had yet to be found or reclaimed. A lawyer named Leigh Danson rose to the occasion, proposing a plan to create trade routes between all the major settlements on the coast, spanning through kingdoms. Once the plan was completed the kingdoms were for the first time in history unified and in fear that the depression would return decided to become a single body- the Requian Empire, with the first emperor being Leigh Danson himself.
The Kraken Priest
The role of Kraken Priest had already been passed down twice between the First Kraken Attack and the creation of the empire. When the Pirate Syndicate began during the Golden Age of Piracy, the coast was thrown into a secret war, one of which the Empire was at a disadvantage because of their inability of sinking enemy ships without sacrificing the treasure that was stolen from them on board. Telling shipbuilders to begin installing siege weaponry would also cause panic to spread as people would begin to believe the situation with the pirates had become grave (which at that point it had). Instead, Emperor Leigh turned to a trusted figure, the Kraken Priest. At first, they denied joining the conflict at the risk of the Kraken freeing itself, but after some convincing the Kraken Priest choose otherwise. The Kraken Priest gained an official role in the empire, overlooking the militaries of its kingdoms to determine whether or not the Kraken should be utilized, and to improve them in hopes using the monstrosity wouldn't be necessary.Flag of the Empire
The flag is made with six waves representing each kingdom within the empire. The waves are yellow to represent the gold coins that were made by the trade route between the kingdoms, represented by the blue stripe going through the flag's center. Finally, the text on the flag is written in watery tongue (the language spoken by the coast's Merfolk) and translates to the empire's slogan "Allegiance Under Economic Union."The Lone Emperor & His Legacy
Emperor Leigh Danson served the Requian Empire for many years, up to the Empire's fall when he was killed by the Kraken. His only child, Leigh Danson II was sent to Camelot for his own protection, and once he returned he found his home in devastation. The empire had fallen and Sea's Appeal had rose. Though they had control of the kingdoms of the coast, they gave Leigh II the Kraken Cliffs (where the Empire's capital is located) out of pity. Leigh II was later assassinated, returning the throne to Sea's Appeal until his son Hew became of age.
