Far Portal
The Far Portal is an enormous, dimensional gate located on the surface of Mataras, which connects to a treacherous wasteland in the Plane of Fire. Of note, there is no record of a creature or starship coming through the portal into the Material Plane, save for the few expedition attempts that were lucky enough to return.
After the discovery of the Burning Archipelago interest in the Far Portal exploded, and several research institutions (both academic and industrial) worked together to build Far Portal Station, which orbits near the gate.
