Season 5, Episode 1: "Exhaustion" Report
General Summary
The Dream Team awoke after a bout of strange dreams, gifted to them by the Dreamer, signalling several events that were soon to come (see It Wont Be Long - Season 5). In addition, Mist relayed his experience in the BRANCH API Hub, where he claimed to have met the Admin of the System, Kauma Gonjodonque. The party discussed the implications of these encounters at length, while Lockette tinkered with the tablet of Lod Coster, and unlocked it in a moment of serendipity. The tablet confirmed some of what they already knew about Jun Zhao, and integrated nicely with the information at hand. Slowly, the group formulated a plan for the next several days, and then turned to Melody for a status report.
With the Access Beacon repaired, the crew decided it was time to go back to Golarion, and used a new pod system to invite both Flay and Chamas to the party.
Once inside, the group discovered that their adventuring party, now known as the Starwatch, had largely survived the terrible assault, with the exception of Yellenwen (slain by a Goblin), Faker (fell off the cliff by Starwatch Keep), and Griswald (died protecting Edwin). Something seemed to stop them from producing the full memory, but a flash of a man in full plate flickered at the edge of their thoughts... However, any discussion was tabled as Flay and Chamas' avatars, Selene and Gerald Bubbles took the forefront, having recently died in a conflict at Eastgate, and were then miraculously revived.
Cautious of prying eyes, Esmerelda demanded the two act as natural as possible, and the group decided to meet up at the Grand Lodge. There the group came to terms with the return of the "spirits" in their heads, and decided to work together for now. But as their lunch came to a close, a man by the name of Ochul came to visit -- which the Starwatch recognized as the man who saved them during their previous assault -- and made himself known as Ragarot's avatar, claiming that his life debt to Chad was complete. As the man walked away, the party realized they could no longer recall the fighter's face, but the memory of his words was clear.
Then, eager to test the new members, the Starwatch decided to take a quest from the Pathfinder Society, and headed northeast to recover a much-needed supply train from behind enemy lines. There, they encountered a mix of Goblins and an Orc leader, along with a Demon that seemed to be under their control. Thankfully, they were able to recover the medicinal wagon in the caravan, along with the Tortle merchant, known as Lucky Jack.
The Druids of Green Ridge gave the Starwatch four-hundred gold pieces for their efforts, and then the crew decided to return to the Keep to process.
Late at night, Styx crawled from under her covers at Isra's behest, to complete her infernal contract with the Order of the Scourge. But to her surprise, it seemed that Gerald bore a similar devotion to Asmodeus, and the two prayed together to get the Devil's attention, and passed the first of the Order's messages to him. A fiery outline of a man arrived to receive it, leaving Styx an unholy symbol for future use, and then the clock struck midnight...
