History

Erlin - A short time ago at least to the Erlinians a mass exodus of their people had left and made there way towards what they believed to be their true home (Feywild). A third believed that their exodus was in vain and stayed. Those that left were called the forgotten. The ruling family stayed. The Erlin kept to their selves and never ventured far from their homes. So it was quite a surprise when a huge group of humans who had sailed off from Eildormira arrived here. The elves of the Erlin had never Seen Civilized humans. thought that they were nothing more than barbarians like the Alfar in the land of Eildormira at least since the time of Veropia. They had long lost their glory because of weak and greedy leaders. They believed it was in the nature of humans to become lowly and wanderers. At first they seemed harmless and their villages were left alone. The Erlinians began to worry over time as they saw the veracity that the humans had for wanting more and more land. They also underestimated the intelligence of the humans. They were not aware that they were able to weld magic, even if it was not as strong as the Erlin. These humans grew into a great nation and claimed the lands as their own, lands that had been part of the Erlinians for countless ages. The Erlin rose up and challenged their claim and a war broke out. The humans called it the Unending War even though it only lasted 200 years. The Erlinians were far superior in their magic and armor. Unfortunately because of their weaken numbers and the humans capability to reproduce so fast, they were never able to fight them back to the sea. But they were able to keep them at bay at the boarders of their ancient lands. Also a wise leader rose up amongst the humans and wanted to make peace.   Mord: A small group of Dokkjoro women begin worshiping the Obsidian Queen. A mythological daughter of Zylestra. They refer to themselves as the obedient ones. The rest of Elvenkind call them Mordhorow which means the dark Afflicted ones. They get this name due to the fact that the Cult curse the Sun and through initations the initial group casts a spell that all of their decendants would be hurt by sunlight and any that joined their cult would have to take on this curse or boon depending on what perspective you took. Thus they would only come out at night or since they were Dokkjoro they lived in caves. They blamed the Eldar who lived in the light that they were subjugated and treated unfairly and wanted nothing that benefitted their oppressors. Through this line of thinking they were able to swell there group to hundreds of Dokkjoro if not thousands. Mordhorow began to terrorize the Eldar and the Dokkjoro are blamed. The Mord are discovered to be the ones that have been terrorizing the Eldar for the last five years and between the Dokkjoro and Eldar they banish the Mord to the depths of the earth. In the minds of the Eldar they are being merciful partly because of their affliction in which they can not stand the sun. This is also how they are found out. Leaders of the Dokkjoro found out about their cult to the Obsidian Queen as well. The Eldar make a proclamation and the Mord are told they would be killed on site if any of their kind with this affliction were found in the Eldar's realm. The Dokkjoro agree to the proclamation and due to murders that were found within their own kingdom agree to exile them into the greater depths.

Historical Figures

Queen Eilreth’Avel of the Erline agreed to marry King Godric of the Dracavan in hopes that their union would continue the peace. Many of the Erline were hesitant about the union but went along because they trusted their Queen. They knew that the king and queen had a daughter from a previous marriage and that they would inherit what was rightfully theirs. What no one expected was that they actually fell in love and produced a daughter. Many of the noble families of the Erlines believed it was an abomination and refused to see it as legitimate in any way. Many of the common people were indifferent. They ruled for 75 years. When the king lay on his deathbed the lines were drawn up for the division of the kingdom. Elves would maintain their Ancient lands and the humans would keep what they had obtained during the war. The half-breed would be given the unwanted lands of the Draconians. When the lines were drawn and agreed upon and the king dead, the Queen abdicated her rule to her eldest daughter and left not to be heard from again.
