Aerothar discovered that Alcyria was home to an ancient and powerful vampire, Descott, who was bound in servitude to a fearsome necromancer in that world.
Before Aerothar became the Eternal Sovereign Lich in The Midnight Obscura, he was a powerful Necromancer archmage in Veropia, constantly seeking ways to expand his knowledge and power. During this time, he learned of Alcyria, a distant realm teeming with magic and potent beings. Through his studies, Aerothar discovered that Alcyria was home to an ancient and powerful vampire, Descott Lear, who was bound in servitude to a fearsome necromancer in that world. Intrigued by the possibility of harnessing this vampire's power for his own ends, Aerothar devised a complex ritual to summon Descott into Glosmordin. The ritual required rare and dangerous components, including the convergence of the celestial bodies of both Glosmordin and Alcyria, and had to be performed at a location steeped in death and darkness. The Midnight Obscura, with its connection to shadows and the undead, provided the perfect bridge for this summoning. When Aerothar completed the ritual, Descott was forcibly pulled through the planar boundaries, severing his ties to Alcyria and the necromancer who controlled him. The transition into Glosmordin through the Midnight Obscura broke the bonds of servitude that had shackled Descott for centuries, granting him a newfound freedom—and a deep hatred for those who would seek to control him. Aerothar, unfortunately was unable to bind him and Descott went unchecked
