Brie Tealeaf was a Tree Gnome born into the Gnome town of Applewood in the land of Valorshire. She was born the child of a hunter named Tunworth Tealeaf who was well respected amongst the local community, and his wife the herbalist Tesyn Tealeaf.
Growing up, Brie was outgoing, confident and enjoyed the company of others. She was beloved by most of the community, but was most of all adored by her dearest friend Feta Coffeebean. Feta was the daughter of a local greengrocer and though she herself was far more introverted, she so adored Brie's outgoing nature and sought to emulate her.
The two girls were inseparable growing up, and together they both dreamed of a life of travel and adventure across Vilia. Their parents were made uncomfortable by their plans, and advised against it, fearing for the dangers of the world beyond their borders, but the two girls only grew more insistent on their goals.
Eventually, still young and yet having reached adulthood, the two Gnomes depart Applewood and set out on their adventures. The two prove to be an effective pair, with Brie using her natural charisma to win the hearts and minds of those they meet, whilst Feta protects them with their more cautious and pragmatic outlook on the world.
The two travel the world together, pressing north and then north-west until they enter into the Mastorian Empire. By the time the two friends cross into the city of Yaszaw, their funds are running dry and the two agree to accept a contract to hunt a dangerous animal's nest on the mountain of Morka Mulkwast.
The two travel to the city of Arkeluw and from there take a carriage up to Mulkwast Manor.
