Dwarf

Basic Information

Anatomy

Dwarves are short and stout creatures known for having a very low body fat and thick skin. They have bulbous eyes with shining colourful sclera within their eyes and black pupils and irises. They have flat bat-like noses and also long portruding wide ears like that of a bat.

Growth Rate & Stages

Dwarves mature more gradually than humans, only reaching full maturity at the age of fifty.

Ecology and Habitats

Dwarves live deep underground in subterranean caves carved out with elegant sculpted tunnels and elaborate stone cities.

Dietary Needs and Habits

The Dwarven diet is based on scarcity, and relies on creative maximisation of the subterranean resources available to them. They create food from the edible ferns that grow closer to the subterranean rivers along with edible fronds and fiddleheads. They further harvest edible algae and lichen from the bottom of the river-beds and springs. Dwarves are further known to eat subterranean mushrooms.   The Dwarves are not solely herbivores however, and will make much of their food out of subterranean worms and beetles.
