Wolfgar
"Wolfgar is a dominant city in Central Olorlay. Its origin is similar to other Olor cities, with its foundations in the Burbric Empire. When the Burbric Empire fell, the Shapechanger Chiefs, or "Wolves" of Wolfgar, settled in the old Burbric castle. They brought with them seeds of the holy trees of Miri, golden-leaved trees that only grow in Olorlay. They are believed to be sacred and the physical manifestation of Miri, the Goddess of Nature and Conquest.
Some of the old Burbric buildings still stand, notably the Great Church of Wolfgar and the monastery to the north. But also, several manors, which have been repurposed as public places.
The Wolfgar clan has always been a ferocious clan, set on conquest and dominance. Throughout history, they rivaled Fallavar, the first Olor clan according to the old legends, a feat to be proud of. However, their true potential was never realized because of a blood feud with the Meras Clan. No one remembers how the feud started, only that it has existed for as long as anyone can remember. For centuries, the Meras clan harassed the Wolves of Wolfgar, until recently, when the Alliance of the Lords of Olorlay was formed.
To end the hostilities between Wolfgar and Meras, the Norless clan would be granted the lands between the two clans, meaning that Meras would no longer be able to directly hinder Wolfgar. Wolfgar gladly accepted, under the pretense that it wanted to protect the Olor clans against the Knurd invaders from the north, but in truth, they have little intention of upholding their end of the alliance. Instead, they plan to build up their strength; the western clans are fighting off the Knurds, while the Meras clan can't hurt them. When the time is right, they'll destroy the Meras Clan, and maybe even claim all of Olorlay for themselves."
