Jhio River

The Continuum      Irios      Jhio River

The Jhio River lies between REGION 6 and Western Irios and is primarily controlled by Ione. The river flows south from Jewel Lake and terminates after approximately 140km with the Ionean city of Ornamen resting at the end. Due to the river being downstream from a larger collection of other rivers, many traders use the river to travel to Ione on trade missions.
The Jhio river, along with the Silent River, form the basis of the borders of Ione.
The Jhio river is also known for the drift glass that washes up on its banks after begin pushed down the river from its origin point in Jewel Lake. This drift glass has been used in Ionean artwork for millennia.

History

During the Time of Trials The Fortenes, a precursor group that eventually formed Ione, founded settlements such as Anderselt along the Jhio River and Sanctum Forest is order to avoid detection of more powerful groups. After the conclusion of the Time of Trials Ione expanded it's borders to encompass the entire length of the river and more settlements were founded along it. Of these settlements the city of Ornamen became a trade hub in the region due to the ease of transporting goods down the Jhio River.
