The Old Gods are Patron Deities that have few or no followers. They are the survivors of the Previous Cycle(s). Many are weaker than The Patrons, and very rarely form into pantheons. These gods have sequestered themselves away into objects & places of power on the material plane, or something similar to survive, and as time passes they lose their power while sequestered. They will more readily accept mortal champions to retain their power.
