Llyewn Tattoo
Llyew and his clergy hate the disruption that undeath has upon the order of things. As such a specalized magical tattoo was developed to prevent the body from being used to be reanimated into the undead. This uses somewhat expensive reagents within the dyes used.
These tattoos are only effective at preventing undeath if they are inscribed on the torso and must be inscribed under a full moon. While all these are called Llyewn tattoos they only started with the Llyew's followers but have spread to other people.
A traditional Llyewn design would incorporate runic sayings using AoEim Stone Script and angular interlaced designs. Sometimes these designs are angular lines in the formed of stylistic animals. Common to the desert inhabitants are hawks, eagles, gryffins and Rock Lizards. Arton Dwarves will often get the tattoos in the style of weapons or contraptions. Axes, Adzes, crossbows and gears are popular.
Elves who get this type of tattoo prefer something significantly different and theirs incorporate swirling designs and are often much larger. It appears the angularness enables the tattoos to be smaller, while the swirling designs appear to not be effective without being almost twice as large. Wind, smoke or stylized flowing animals are the most popular among elves. Text is more common to use the Knimwellit Symbology if anything written at all.
Most recently in Land of the Death Lords some have gotten a new variant of this tattoo which is selective. These tattoos only allow certain types of undead to be created from the body. The rich within this land refuse to become simple skeletons or zombies, but desire to be vapmires, mummies or more "respectable" forms of undead.
Item type
Magical
Rarity
Magical tattoos aren't rare, but also regional in design and implementation. Artisans who know the recipie and have the reagents readily avaliable are fairly uncommon.
Dimensions
at least 12cm by 12cm
Cool idea for a protective tattoo but love that it got adjusted by the wealthy so there are exceptions, figures. Great details on the other cultural interpretations too.
