Marwin's Door

Located on the far side of the The Glimmersea beyond The Void Keep. Marwin's door is a perfect equilateral triangle of pure black nothingness standing 12 feet tall. The door has a subtle pull effect, which makes it seem like people want to move toward it, almost as if the ground itself was slanted to the door. The void is so black that it seems to feed on/consume the light out of our torches, making them dim. Even those with dark vision are affected by it, giving them tunnel vision, and forcing them to be myopically focused on only the door. The door would visually appear similar to a black hole in space - the light consumed by the door is visible only along the edges of the triangle until it is consumed by the void. This makes this pitch black triangle have a thin outline of light tracing its edges. A mixture of wonder, curiosity, and existential dread would overcome anyone near it.


When Marwin Avelade opened the door, it left a scar in reality. That scar is slowly corrupting the environment around it, which is how it was discovered by Hastur . These corruptions manifest as: gravity doesn’t quite work the way it’s supposed to here, and this bizarre gravity bends light in odd ways, making shadow people on the walls. Or the geometry of the area shifts randomly. There are tiny orbs of light that float around aimlessly but do not react with anything that touches them, or passes through them.
