The Border of Tartaria

The Sovereign Domain of Tartaria, controls much of the accessable land around the Arctic circle and in some places, such as the one illustrated here, borders independent northern lands, occasionally allied with the Anglo-Franco Empire. This is wild ground with long bleak valleys, icy rivers and sullen little forests. Neither side spares too much effort to patrol the notional line of control, prefering to let nature have its way, so a location such as this one is a good place to cross the border if you are a spy engaged in questionable activity.
