Earth Baroque

Earth Baroque is the name the Stability Council use for a stable evolution with a technological level very similar to 19th century Earth Zero and Laws of Form that do not differ in any significant way from Earth Zero. It is characterised by an extravagant formality in fashion, cuisine, manners and music with courtly moral precepts and elaborate ritual pervading a heavily stratified society. Great militaristic alliances vie for world supremacy, even though they would consider the open declaration of their rivalries a vulgar admission. There is much secret plotting, admiration of daring in sport and military matters and a distaste for intellectualism.
