The Festival of the Elements
The Festival of the Elements was a celebration of music, magic and sport on Magicians' End which was organised by the Society of Arcane Adepts, a tradition which began in 682 APC with the first one being hosted at the city of Zalgurim.
It was usually held at twelve yearly intervals thereafter but this timetable was not always strictly adhered to. Some festival years were missed altogether (for example during the Age of the Long Famine) and some were moved to an earlier or later year for a variety of reasons, so it is not possible to deduce festival years from a simple examination of the calendar.
The festival was a peripatetic event which had been hosted by almost all of the major cities of the world on the three main continents (several on many occasions) before the tradition came to an end after the infamous 131st Jebbin City festival in 2410 APC which degenerated into the Jebbin City Mage Riot.
Execution
The festival brought magic users, musicians, sports men and women and pleasure seekers of all ages (although predominently the young) together from all over the world to experience concerts, plays and sporting and magical competitions of all kinds. There would be communal feasting with a great deal of eating and drinking on the opening and closing night of the celebrations.
