Personal history
Durum was a outcast from his clan, not by any shame or deed but just by virtue of not fitting in. He took to adventuring, and made a decent living doing it, but that changed when his party stopped to buy scrolls and components from the local temple to Mystra . There he met Brondolin, and over the few days his party was in town he spent every moment he could with her. She was an Arcanist in the church, and she introduced him to the mysteries of the church. The deeper his relationship with Brondolin grew, the deeper his faith in Mystra became and he dedicated himself to her cause and changed his name to Blauwester, in honor of her symbol.
After they were married Durum got a call to revive his adventuring life. The hierophant needed someone who could track down a dangerous artifact, and Durum stepped up. Upon the successful completion of his mission, he convinced the church to commission his team and the Original Distaff was born.
Thing were going well until The Times of Trouble. With the mayhem in the weave, the Distaff disbanded, and Durum and Brondolin became honor guard for Mystra's avatar. Tragedy struck one night while they were fighting off some cultist of Myrkul; a wild magic surge consumed Brondolin as she completed a spell. Durum was broken, and threw himself into his work protecting Mystra. When she climbed the Celestial Stairs and met here doom at the hands of Helm he was finished.
Lady Midnight, the new incarnation of Mystra, took pity on him, and tried to console him. He had always been a man who worked, and busy hands mended his soul. The Distaff was recommissioned, and Durum became a mentor of most of the current members of the order.
Durum never gave up his devotion to the Mystra that died on the stairs, he never adapted to Lady Midnight, he still bears the crest of the fallen Mystra.
