Enclave of Dusk

Sinister's refuge from the Forces of Light, The Pantheon and heroes of all kind! This island holds his prized tower, his cultists and almost every kind of villainous force the Arch has to offer. This island is the polar opposite, in terms of energy and structure, of the Isle of Dawn.   The geography, flora and fauna of this refuge changes depending on which of Sinister's Schema becomes dominant. The listed details of the Enclave pertain to when Sinister is the dominant Schema. When Hybris is the dominant Schema, it becomes a massive swampland complete with gators and other flora and fauna of the deep southern states. When Lupe is the dominant Schema, it becomes a rich, verdant field reminiscent of the Mediterranean. However, such fields are always slick with rain, ranging from heavy to mild. When Alastor is the dominant Schema, the Enclave reverts to a volcanic wasteland filled with lava, slag and Nether --- a void of destruction.

Geography

The Enclave is a rich mixture of lush forests and stony highlands. It is the only island in the Archipelago that truly captures the essence of the wilderness and, in many cases, mirrors the rich forestry of many national parks in Greece.    A majority of the Enclave's shores are made up up bulky, protruding rocks that act as both protective barriers against outside forces and deterrents for any ships that hope to come ashore without express permission of the island's owner. There are only a handful of shores, called the Ebony Shores, that allow outsiders to safely come onto the island, via ship or otherwise. From the shores inward, there is a constant mixture of verdant forestry and thick, jutting slabs of black rock with traces of Nether flowing through it. Aside from the shores that receive cool water regularly, the Earth has a slightly higher than normal temperature due to its volcanic composition.   The entire island centers around the massive Obelisk Obscura that rises from the center, drawing much of the wildlife to congregate within a mile of the structure. The only volcanic activity that remains on the island is underneath the Obelisk Obscura itself but it has been permanently disabled by the tower's very presence since it is rooted through the island and into the Tethys Lagoon just beneath. Through this, it re-purposes any spurts of magma as Nether throughout the island.

Fauna & Flora

Because of the sacrificial foundation required to create the island's flora and fauna, all of its plants and wildlife are, to some degree, infused with Sinister's Nether. As a result, neither the animals or plants require to feast upon one another to survive, living purely off of the energy bestowed upon them. Similar to the animals in the Obelisk Obscura, the animals of the Enclave are relatively harmless and are harmonious with all on the island who have traces of Nether in them. However, visitors who are unwelcome may find themselves in unintended mazes forged by the foresty, making them believe that it would take months to walk from one end of the island to another. Meanwhile, the animals would believe them to be prey and act as if they were their natural source of food.   Outside of the ecosystem of the Amethyst Forest, one can find an abundance of crustaceans who call the outer rim of the island home. Most of these crustaceans have black exoskeletons with a considerable amount of muscle, allowing them to navigate the perilous rocky structures with little issue.

Natural Resources

The most common crops for the Enclave are as follows:   Ginseng | Black walnut | Hazelnut | Elderberry | Blackberry | Huckleberry | Syrups | Honey | Mushrooms | Various roots | Moss   However, those hunting for natural resources on the island are usually in search of the unique Void Ore which is found in layers of varying depths. They are more commonly found in the core of rock structures and less commonly found deep within dying soil.

History

The Enclave of Dusk was formed primarily from the structure of the Mashu Volcano, a stratovolcano that was once one of the hallmarks of the area. Through Sinister Maharana's awakening, the volcanic isle was infused with Nether and started to mutate the small amount of flora in the area. Because the flora continuously rotted due to the nature of the Nether, Sinister decided to use a group of unlucky islanders and animals as a foundation for the Enclave's eventual beauty. After their bodies slowly and painfully rotted, they were used as composting to fuel a macabre resurrection of the wildlife. In essence, the dead fed off of the dead and, with Sinister's strategic yet obscene gardening skills, he was able to craft a massive forest that spanned from shore to shore and sported a rich purple and black pattern.   Once the island was formed, Sinister planted an Obelisk Seed so that the infamous tower could root itself throughout the entire island's underground system, as well as in the Tethys Lagoon that it sat upon. In a matter of months, both the cult and various visitors have made this purple island their top vacation spot, if not their permanent home.
