Amethyst Forest
Permanently tinted purple and black, this forest is adjacent to the Obelisk Obscura on the otherwise rocky island. It surrounds the outer edge of the crater the Obelisk sits within and expands outward with the appearance of a stereotypical forest with tall trees and a plethora of wildlife, both of which have been slightly influenced by the Nether that radiates from the tower. It is large enough that walking from one end to another would take at least an entire day's worth of walking. In a sense, it's a small world of its own with its own clearings, rivers and walls of flora that blot out the light.
Geography
Similar to the rest of the Enclave, the forest is a mixture of looming flora and volcanic spans of rock. The clearest way to describe walking through the Amethyst Forest is basically trying to navigate the deep woods inside an inactive volcano. There are winding paths and trails throughout but the twisted geography of the forest can lead the weak-willed an inattentive to walking through a labyrinth if they aren't careful. Multiple creeks and streams travel through the Amethyst Forest, some of which lead to various coves and caverns that are made of volcanic rock. Some say that the island itself is sentient due to reports but cultists saying that they have seen some areas shape into completely different areas from day to day, sometimes having entire groupings of trees move from one side of the island to another. This may be due to the fact that the island, and nearly everything in it, was forged from the bodies of murdered islanders and their animals. In effect, many are divided as to whether or not the hills truly do have eyes.
Fauna & Flora
Much like the Greek landscape that inspired its architecture, the Amethyst Forest has a great deal of flora from the Mediterranean region including a large swath of olive trees and firs. However, it also boasts Oak and Redwood trees that don't normally grow alongside them, creating a melding sense of countryside and deep forestry that expands the wilderness of the island. It is a strange, sprawling collaboration between American and Mediterranean, perhaps hinting at the traces of Ken that still meld with Sinister to this day.
The animals of the forest have much the same kind of odd mixture, from European wildcats, hares and moles to North American wolves, eagles and bears. While there is a large variety, the most common animals one can run into are the ravens and crows who constantly survey the area, acting as secondhand surveillance for the cultists. The most striking feature about the fauna of the forest is that they are all surprisingly cooperative with one another, primarily due to the fact that they are completely self-sufficient from the Nether that flows through their bodies.
