Fateplucked

The Fateplucked, a mystical and enigmatic phenomenon in the world of Ora, is a belief rooted in the idea that certain individuals are touched by The Dyad and have their destinies altered or guided in profound ways. These individuals are said to be "plucked" from the ordinary path of fate and destined for something extraordinary.

In Ora, the concept of the Fateplucked is not confined to one particular race or group of people; it can affect individuals from various backgrounds and walks of life. It is a testament to the world's deep connection with divine forces and the mysterious workings of the gods.

While some may see the Fateplucked as a blessing, others may view it as a curse. The path of those who are believed to be Fateplucked is often filled with challenges, adventures, and choices that have far-reaching consequences. They may become heroes, leaders, or even tragic figures in the grand tapestry of Ora's history.

The beliefs and interpretations of the Fateplucked can vary from culture to culture and region to region in Ora. Some societies actively seek out these individuals and elevate them to positions of power, while others may shun or fear them, believing that their influence can disrupt the natural order of things.

Origins and Appearance

During the catastrophe known as The Moonfall, while the other gods were busy either dealing with Tharizdun or the disaster itself, The Dyad had its own mysterious purpose. It is said that The Dyad appeared before individual mortals all over Ora, from all walks of life and touched them on their foreheads with a single long black finger.

In that moment the Fateplucked were born. Persons who are Fateplucked bear the black mark of this ancestral interaction. From birth a black oval is present on their forehead, where The Dyad is said to have touched their forefathers, this mark indicates their status. The mark cannot be removed or covered by cosmetics, mud or another substance, they simply do not stick to it. The phenomenon is passed down from generation to generation, sometimes skipping a generation or more before reappearing. No theory of worthiness or blood purity seems to affect who among these bloodlines is fateplucked and who is not.
