Session Nineteen: Wolves In Disguise!

General Summary

The session begins with Bjorn arriving at the Trollskull Manor and asks to speak with Nyx. Nyx meets with Bjorn and he tells Nyx they found a scroll which survived the explosion in the Captain’s quarters. Nyx opens the scroll and it states there is a crate at the Waterdhavian Customs House for the former Captain of the Sea Ghost to pick up. Nyx thanks Bjorn and goes finds the others. Nyx informs the party what she found out and the party agrees to check it out.
  As the party was discussing what Nyx had found out, Galrik entered the Trollskull Manor. Galrik received a note to find Volo at the Trollskull Manor and Volo would able to introduce him to a group of friends of the writer. Galrik approaches Volo and shows him the note. Sneatcha and Nyx recognize Galrik from the tournament from the other night and walks over to Volo and Galrik. After showing Nyx the note Galrik remarks he has a mark as well. Volo tells Nyx he will vouch for Galrik and introduces Galrik to Cora. Sneatcha received a note from High Sword Zaber which indicated he is sending over a friend of the temple to help Sneatcha. A short time later Nefertiti arrives at the Trollskull Manor. Sneatcha introduces himself to Nefertiti. Nefertiti tells Sneatcha she is a follower of Tempus and she wanted to help Sneatcha after what happen at the temple. Sneatcha introduces Nefertiti to Nyx, Cora and Galrik. The party gear up and leave for the warehouse.
  At the warehouse Nyx transforms into the former Captain of the Sea Ghost and enters the Waterdhavian Customs House. The customs agent tells Nyx there is a crate for her and she has to pay a small duty on it. Nyx pays the duty and the customs agent takes Nyx to the crate. Nyx leaves the customs house with the crate and meets the party. They open the crate and find two hull plates. Upon inspection of the plates, they determine when attached to a ship the plates allow the ship to fly with a lodestone. An inspection of the crate show the lodestone was missing. A note inside the crate directs the Captain to send a message to the holder of the lodestone when he picked up the plates. Nyx sends the message and a return message tells her to bring the elixir to the meet at the abandon Old Traveler's Tavern outside Waterdeep.
  The party agrees to meet at the tavern to see if they can get the lodestone. Cora, Galrik, Sneatcha and Nefertiti goes into Nyx’s familiar’s pocket. Nyx travels to the tavern. Just outside the tavern Nyx notices a wolf following her. Nyx finds the tavern abandon and enters the tavern. A few moments later a male elf and human enter the tavern. They ask Nyx if she brought the elixir. Nyx tries to stall the two as she tells them she isn’t sure which elixir they want. Nyx deduces they want a form of radiance and asks if she should trade it for the lodestone. The party tells not to and Nyx walks out of the tavern. As Nyx exits the tavern she is attacked by several werewolves outside. Nyx opens the familiar’s pocket and the party jumps out attacking the werewolves. After an intense battle where Nyx and Nefertiti are bit the party is able to kill the werewolves. Nyx retrieves the lodestone as Cora and Sneatcha tries to track the remaining werewolves in the woods. They track them deeper into the woods but decided they are in a dangerous spot as they hear several howls coming from different directions. Sneatcha and Cora fly away and return to the tavern where Nefertiti was removing the werewolf curse from herself and Nyx. The party returns back to the Trollskull Manor. Cora is upset she could not find the leader of the Darkriders but Nyx tells her she will see what her sources can find out.
  The session ended.

Notes

Key Findings:
  • Bjorn found a scroll which survived the blast in the former Captain's room of the Sea Ghost.
  • The scroll let the party to pick up two hull plates from a warehouse in Waterdeep. The hull plates are magical and when attached to a ship causes the ship to fly.
  • The Night Mask made an arrangement with a pack of werewolves named the Darkstriders to retrieve the lodestone for the hull plates.
  • The Night Mask payment to the Darkstriders was a form of radiance which would allow the Darkstriders to control their transformations.
  • The Darkstriders are made up of several different packs of werewolves.
