The Wildmother

Demigod

The Wildmother is the patron of nature and druidic magic.

Description

Though she is referred to as a 'she', there is little else personifying her as a deity or powerful entity. She has no physical depiction outside of nature. She is the earth and the sky, the trees and the sea. She represents all things natural.

Activities

The Wildmother is to Druids what the The Weave is to Wizards. She maintains the natural magic of the Everplanes though does not directly distribute it. Her worshippers draw magic from the elements that she provides. Worshippers of many other deities (such as Chauntea ) will be bestowed power that came from the Wildmother.

History

In the beginning, the Wildmother was an aspect of Chauntea, The Great Mother. During the Days of the Divines, Chauntea split this aspect from her as the Everplanes were beginning to form mortal life. Chauntea would nurture this life while the Wildmother would embody nature itself in her place.   Many beings came into power through the course of history, each manifesting as an animal. These were known as the The Wild Gods, and carried much of the Wildmothers power through different parts of the Everplanes.

Worshippers

As the being who provides all natural magic, the Wildmother is revered by druids of all types. More specifically, druids and rangers of the wilderness will worship her.   Not all druids worship the Wildmother however (Similar to Mystra's relationship with Wizards). The Wildmothers presence is very broad, leading many to seek a more direct from of worship from deities such as Chauntea, Corellon, Malar, Selune, Eldath, or any of The Wild Gods under the Wildmothers purview.

Tenets

  • Protect the untamed wildernesses of the realm from exploitation and destruction.
  • Slay abominations and other dark mockeries of nature.
  • Embrace and respect the savage nature of the world. Exist in harmony with it.
