Sword Coast North

Sword Coast North was a region on the northwestern coast of Faerûn. The region stretches from Waterdeep in the south to the Spine of the World in the north. It was home to several like-minded towns and cities.

Geography

The Sword Coast North is comprised of a rough landscape of rugged hills, precarious mountain ranges and dense forests.

Geographical features

The Mere of Dead Men is a prominented to the north, between next to the Sword Mountains and near Waterdeep. Prominent forests in the region include Neverwinter Wood, home to elves and fey, and Kryptgarden Forest, said to contain the ruins of a lost dwarven civilisation.   The region hosts two major mountainous regions, The Sword Mountains and The Crags. The Sword Mountains are home to several dwarf, gnome, goblinoid, and orc settlements. The tallest peak of the Sword mountains is Icespire Peak. The Crags would be a far less remarkable range, where it not for Mount Hotenow, a volcano that lay dormant for years until 1474DR when an eruption from the volcano devastated the nearby region, including the town of Thundertree.
