Keb
Te Kebwi (Singular: Keb) are a variety of Nanoi who originate from the Djawi Tashir Mountains in eastern Khemia, they differ from their brethern in having been adapted to the harsh xeric climate of the Senu Desert through alchemial experimentation by their former Apophian overlords, sometime during the Third Age.
As a result of their history as enslaved miners, stonemasons, and architects for the Apophians and Myrmex during the Third Age of Tel, the Keb are still renowned throughout Khemia and beyond for their skill in stonework and construction. In particular, the Kebs' reputation for being master dowsers and well-diggers have earned them a great deal of economic and political power with Khemia. Likewise, they are admired for their high level of technological achievement; one example being the Kebite petroglyphs that were adopted by many Human cultures to form the basis of their writing systems.
Kebian society is centered around the large complexes of ziggurats and pyramids they construct in the desert that resemble their original homes in the Djawi Tashir Mountains.Additional Information

Civilization and Culture
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Stereotypically, Kebwi are seen by other races as a brave and highly pragmatic people; however, they are also often perceived as avaricious and distrustful of outsiders. A notable exception to their general aloofness are the Kebwi's long-standing friendly relations with the Gnomi; the more gregarious people often live among the Kebwi as a merchant middle-man class who export the products of the industrious Kebwi to the larger world, while importing rarities from all across Tel to their pyramid complexes in the Senu Desert.
