Khufumernuteru
The Order of Xam, Helmsman of the Barque of the Sun Ascending, has long watched the growing disorder across Khemia, from their Keb enclaves in the mountains east of the Asri River. They have girded themselves through prayer and reverential craftsmanship of stone, gem, and metal for a coming battle with decay and death. With the outbreak of plague in the capitol, Anekhsemeru, The Order believes that this existential battle has drawn inexorably close. They send healers to the city to aid the sick and dying at the House of the Snetwa and stout Clerics and fighter into the Wastes of the Senu Desert to find the source of the corruption that plagues the land, and see if it is true that the sundered plague god has found new worshippers in inhospitable places.
One such pair of Cleric and fighters were the cousins Khufumernuteru (Khufu) and Xamherkhepeshef (Herk), who journeyed West, deep into the desert in hopes of finding the cultists of Reshpu. Alas, they were waylaid by slavers and drugged with Golden Lotus, Khufu was rescued from enslavement by La Compagnia Septentrionale, who were exploring the Lost Rusati City, Paruhatpa. Somewhat lost without Xamherkhepeshef (Herk), he travels with La Compagnia to get distance from the city, and hopefully enlist their help in finding Herk and getting word back to his abbot about the extensive sacrifice to gods of decay in the Wastes.
