Yari
Yari is a term popularly used to describe an Alvus/Human hybrid. Many Yari can be found living among the steppe cultures that exist along the Dragon Silk Road, and the term 'Yari' originates from the Ashkuzi language.
Basic Information
Genetics and Reproduction
Yari result from the mating of an Alvus with a Human, or by a Yari with another Yari, Alvus, or Human. For reasons as of yet unknown to the philosophers and sages of the Fourth Age, regardless of how distant the original Human or Alvi ancestor is in an individual Yari's bloodline, the hybrid physiological features are just as strong in such a person as in a first-generation Yari.
Growth Rate & Stages
Yari maturation rate and ultimate longevity lie in the middle of the extremes of Humans and Alvus, thus their lifespans are similar to Kazma or Gnome with a maximum of about 350 years. Yari adolescence ends at 45 and they are considered elderly at 180 years of age.
Ecology and Habitats
Possessing the adaptability of their Human heritage, Yari are able to inhabit any clime that is capable of sustaining humanoid life. As such, like Humans, the Yari have spread across the entirety of Tel, settling in taiga, tropical rainforests, and every biome in between.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Yari have similar nutritional requirements as Humans and Alvus, and are thus omnivorous. However, a Yari's actual diet depends on individual and cultural tastes in cuisine, as well as availability of food sources.
Additional Information
Facial characteristics
Displaying features of both of their heritages, Yari possess almond-shaped eyes and pointed earlobes. However, their earlobes are not as large as Alvi. Similarly, Yari facial features are not as sharp and angular as the Alvi and resemble the softer and rounder features of their Human parentage.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Yari tend have larger frames than full-blooded Alvi, but are usually still more slender in build than the average Human. Similarly, they tend to be taller than the Alvi average but trend slightly shorter than Humans.
Yari complexions range from a dark brown to a medium white skin tone. Eye color includes the full range of Human eye color as well as more exotic Alvi emerald green, violet, and grey.
