Baalagog the Two Faced Wyrm

(a.k.a. The Death of the Sands, Glass's Wild Spirit, or The Whispering Snake)

Baalagog the Two Faced Wrym is the Source Dragon of the island of Glass. Its two heads reflect the conjoined nature of the island's Source Crystals, one fire attuned and one earth attuned. The name "Baalagog" is actually a composite name of both heads of this single creature, one named Baala and one named Gog.

Physical Description

Body Features

Baalagog is a long, serpent like creature. Baala is crimson red, and an orange light glows from under his scales. Gog is sandy brown, with shards of glass poking out between her scales like the needles of a porcupine. Both heads look fairly similar, reptilian in nature, but ending in a hooked beak. Baala has smoldering red eyes, and smoke constantly billows from his nostrils, while Gog has eyes that are onyx black, and sand pours out of her mouth as she speaks.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Baalagog emerged on the island in the centuries before the colonists first arrived, and spent hundreds of years alone, playfully bickering and fighting in a way that only siblings can understand.   In 200 TFA, the colonists arrived. Baalagog appeared before them and demanded that they either leave or worship the wyrm as their god. One of the colonists, in a moment of genus, asked which of the wyrms he should swear loyalty to first. What followed was a terrible argument during which Baalagog literally tore themselves apart. 52 years later, Baalagog regenerated, only to find the community had grown in size and had not in-fact started worshiping them. Furious, they attacked, only to be driven off by the villagers and a small army of mercenaries. They were then slain by a plucky group of adventurers with a can-do attitude and a thirst for casual murder.   This cycle has repeated several times in the intervening two centuries.

Gender Identity

Baala uses he/him pronouns and Gog uses she/her pronouns.

Failures & Embarrassments

For the last 200 years, Baalagog has been unable to rid their island of the colonists of Duston. Every time they have been struck down by an annoying band of plucky heroes or mercenaries. This repeated embarrassment has caused a fixation in Baalagog, driving them back to Duston every time they regenerate.

Intellectual Characteristics

Baalagog is split between their two personalities. Baala is a careful and coniving ambush predator, while Gog is excitable, short on patience, and prone to charging in head first. Both are compulsive and convincing liars, although they can rarely agree on a story so their deceptions tend to fall apart upon further inspection.

Morality & Philosophy

Baalagog consider themselves the rightful rules of Glass and will do anything it takes to maintain their claim.

Social

Speech

Baala speaks in a slow and methodical rasp, while Gog speaks in a haughty, self-righteous tone.
"This time sister, this time..."   "You say that every time, and yet we are no closer to our glorious silence, now are we?"   "Shut your sand-hole! I'm thinking."   "Well I'm thinking, too, brother dear. I'm thinking it's time we stop with your endless scheming and try something more conventional."   "What do you suggest?"   "The direct approach."
