The Circle

The Circle is an order of druids who use their elementally empowered magic to help speed the production of food on the island.   The Circle is the order of druids sworn to the protection and preservation of the environment of Plenty, which includes the people who coexist with it. To ensure a lasting peace between the sentient humanoids of the island and the natural world, the Circle use their druidic powers to enhance the production capabilities of the island. Its their contribution, along with the talents of Plenty's skilled farmers, that allows the island to be the veritable breadbasket of the Eastern Skies.    A mysterious organization, little is known about their structure, grand designs, or particular motives. The group often clashes with The Stewardship of Plenty, who's goals of expansion and commerce go directly against their own.

Culture

The druids of the Circle see life in its totality, and move to preserve the balance between civilization and nature (while understanding that these two things have no true hard line between them). Their members tend to dress spartanly, usually in undecorated brown robes (or else completely in the buck).

Public Agenda

The Circle view themselves as teachers, and often dispense wisdom (whether asked for or not). Their lessons are rarely focused, bouncing between philosophical revelations, and practical applications for moon-wart as a treatment for male-pattern baldness and gout. This rambling style is intended to reflect the Circle's own view of knowledge, as they see it as a single cohesive whole (not easily explained in linear language), rather than a collection of isolated facts.

History

The exact origin of the Circle is unknown, but as long as there has been some form of society on Plenty, the Circle has existed as a counterbalance.

Mythology & Lore

The Circle worship The Earth Titan and The Water Titan, viewing them as the parent deities to Plenty. While they hold the "father" and the "mother" in high regard, they do not neglect the worship of the other two titans, honoring them at special times during the day.    Dark rumors suggest that some members of the Circle even pay some homage to The Nul Titan on nights without a moon. Whether these rituals are meant to honor the dark one or entreat it to remains at bay, no one knows.
