M3E6 - Return of N'jal
Encounter with N'jal Odger
Long into the night N'jal Odger sat on his high seat broading. He had been humilitated by the deligation of Tannibore Egilson. But worse his the plans he layed years had been found out. All his work would be wasted, and it's all their fault! The longer brooded that night the angrier and angrier he became as he squeezed the arms of his high seat dragging long scratches into the chair with his fingernails. For hours he stared motionless, and none of his guards dared interupt him until the following morning when his servants entered the great hall to prepare for the day on to find that N'jal Odger was dead. Whether the old man had a heart attack or whether it pure that killed him none could say, but as rumors always do within hours the enter city was in an uproar of what had happened. The Black Crows and the Red Hand Conscripts where in a total state of disarray as the crowd of civilians pressed their through the gates to see for themselves of old dead tyrannt sitting on his throne for the last time, because it was widely believed that N'jal Odger would return as a "Troublesome Corpse!"That evening N'jal Odger die, and rose as a "Troublesome Corse" (Draugr). Players will need defeat N'jal Odger and the six shadow demons that accompany him. Players will have plenty of time to look through the windows and come up with a plan for how to deal with threat, but they must enter through the front doors of the great hall. Remind players of the threat of the Draugr and how they cannot be killed with conventional means. N'jal Odger he sits like a statue in his high seat uttering curses and laying waste to players with the "evil eye." N'jal Odger has been frozen with super natural rigor mortis and will not be able move during this encounter. During the encounter N'jal Odger will curse Hena stripping her shadow from her body. (DC 30)
The beast N'jal Odger begins focus all of his attention on you as all his rage and hatred he had for you in life pours of his mouth as a curse. And then you begin to feel it the tear like paper being ripped in half you're shadow has been torn from your body. It takes form and stands behind you full of evil intent.If defeated Shadow Hena will escape to torment the party again in the future.
The Burial
Begin to drag the body of N'jal Odger face down across the floor to protect youself from curse. The body has extreme weight and it takes strength of the entire party to move the body. N'jal Odger's former servants knock hole in the side of the wall to carry out the body because they believe it will protect them if N'jal Odger is to rise again because the creature will believe that way to enter the building. Unable to drag the body much further you build carin of heavy stones not far from Kerhofn Hall. The carin is adorned with holy sutras and the clerics utter prayers to their god to bind N'jal Odger to that place, and the heavy press on his spine so that the dead creature can rise no more.After the burial the party will surrounded by The Black Crows It will become blantant obvious that Captian Morgana will try to use this opertunity to sieze power.
