Hyinat, Ore (HIGH-in-AHT)

Hyinat is the principal material used to make the hyinat coins of Ustraria and Iyr's official currencies. It is also used in jewelrymaking, decorative arts, and occasionally armor (usually ceremonial).

Material Characteristics

Lustrous and generally smooth to the touch, the raw veins are typically globular in formation.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Somewhat soft, but takes significant pressure to be able to be scratched with other metal.

Geology & Geography

Deep mining is usually required. The most fertile mines are in Iyr and Seyis-Gol, with a couple of notable ones in Ustraria.

Refinement

Minimal refinement required for use other than general purification; smelting required for best reshaping, with cold-hammering being generally ineffective.
