The Long Dance of Plut'kesh (Ploot-KESH)
Before time began, Aibuynethi, the Light, shone in the Abyss, Gohnasenthi. Jealous of Aibuynethi's ability to Manifest, Gohnasenthi sought to gain things through which it too could Manifest. "Think what we could create together!" Gohnasenthi said to Aibuynethi. Aibuynethi, curious, agreed. Together they created the First Realm: Gohnasenthi gave it earth, sky, water, and plants; Aibuynethi gave it Ega, light, and animals. It was beautiful but chaotic, lacking shapes and permanence, and all things grew vigorously and died violently. The sky would tear, the earth would churn, the waters would boil. Neither of them could influence what they had created. "We must amend this," said Aibuynethi, "but how?" "We cannot curb its reckless abandon as we are," Gohnasenthi said, then saw an opportunity to trick Aibuynethi. "If you were to create an avatar, it could shepherd the chaos." Aibuynethi, curious, agreed. It Manifested a portion of itself in an Avatar, Plut'kesh, who then danced across the heavens. Where he stepped, the chaos calmed and new, steadier life sprang forth. The First Realm became peaceful and bright. "Your Avatar is mighty," said Gohnasenthi, "and his work marvelous. But does he not tire?" They watched as Plut'kesh, fervent but tiring, began to sweat with his labor. Beads of his sweat fell to the earth he had transformed, and from it sprung mortal beings in his image. They behaved more and more feverishly, dancing as Plut'kesh danced and the Realm around them began to decay into chaos once more -- with their last breaths they erupted in bursts of flame and evaporated. Plut'kesh began to weep, and from his tears came beings of water, who fell into the churning earth and were made half-water, half-earth. Aibuynethi, remorseful, bade Plut'kesh stop dancing. "May he rest in you?" it asked Gohnasenthi. Thinking this an opportunity to wound Aibuynethi, Gohnasenthi agreed. However, Aibuynethi said, "As he rests, he shall shine a paler light so I may know him there, and so the Realm may not forget his influence." Nonetheless, Gohnsenthi allowed Plut'kesh to rest in his dance -- this became night, and his paler light became the moon -- for once rested, his dance resumed, and with such an order imposed on the First Realm, gradually new beings were born. Gohnasenthi found he could manifest in the dark thoughts of these beings, and was thus largely satisfied. It is worth noting that the eisorcei include the klatuut in their origin myth, as the 'beings of water' created from Plut'kesh's tears that were then made as creatures half of land, half of water through falling into the churning earth.
