As a young girl she went out of her way to teach herself how to read. IT was not until her mid teens that she gained the opportunity to learn more, when she gained a very informal and unbeneficial apprenticeship in Ayn. There she helped an older professor with his research, and was able to gain access the The Libraries there in her spare time. Her education in that time was self-directed and focused primarily on History, Politics, and how the two intersect, with occasional forays into matters ranging from planar theory to some general sceinces.
Employment
She was born and raised the 8th (born) child of an innkeeper in a fairly small town in the south of The Corner. She worked helping her parents and surviving siblings run the inn until she ran away to Ayn to make it big. There she worked odd jobs to support herself while assisting the professor with his research, most notably as a scribe on the night shift at a local constabulary precinct. She currently helps her husband Jack Ravenhill run the farm on Ravenhill.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Being able to pay her way for close to two years in Ayn as a teenage girl without being reduced to waiting tables or peddling her body is quite the feat in and of itself. The fact that she was able to gain even limited access to The Library there is nothing short of shocking. These are some of the largest accomplishments of her early life, and the most likely to be known. There have been other happenings around the town of Brackish which are far less known which she was nonetheless instrumental in helping to resolve.
Failures & Embarrassments
She is still personally embarrassed by many things that happened at the start of her sojourn in Ayn, and would prefer to not dwell on her first few months there. Some would view her return from the city life there to the outskirts of a town even more secluded than the one she fled as the greatest of failures, but she does not see it that way, as she has opportunities to not only learn new things most stuffy academics could only dream of, as well as the chance to apply what she knows in practical circumstances.
Intellectual Characteristics
She is more academic and theoretical than her husband. While not a space cadet, she is still more than happy to devote her time and effort to learning things which might not seem to be immediately applicable to life skills.
