Taskmaster: Meeting The Broker

A shared point of contact to all of the movers, shakers and major players in the hiveworld underground, the Broker seems to turn up whenever an ancient artifact or valuable weapon is sought after by a buyer with the means to fund its procurement. Once a target is established, a team of mercenaries and archaeologists is assembled and dispatched to retrieve it, often from dangerous ruins or hostile alien worlds. Continued cooperation and completion of missions for the Broker may lead to more lucrative and secretive contracts.

Goals

Completed contracts bring monetary rewards, as well as the opportunity to uncover powerful weapons and equipment in the various ruins and wastelands of the galaxy.

Stakes

Great risk equals great reward. The most valuable artifacts are those hidden where few dare to look for them. Death and dismemberment are merely occupational hazards in this line of work.

Moral Quandaries

Glory comes at the cost of great sacrifice. The paths of cooperation, intimidation, betrayal, and murderous brute force are equally viable and well-traveled. Which will you choose?

Protagonists

In the 42nd millenium, there are no protagonists, only survival.

Competitors

The Broker rarely deals in exclusivity. While you may have a head start, you are not the only treasure hunter in the galaxy.

Adversaries

There are those that would prefer the rarest and most powerful objects in the galaxy remain uncovered, and those that would leverage the rumor of a valuable artifact to set up an ambush to claim their own prize. The only way around these entities is through them.
