Topographical History of the Sector
While a relatively small sector of space, its topology is densely-packed with clusters of other star systems that make up the loose shape of the Greek archipelagos.
I apologize in advance for not having accompanying visuals. I'm incompetent when it comes to working in visual mediums. If anyone is interested in helping me visualize this series, please DM me.
This article is meant to describe the history and the general descriptors of the planets/regions inside the Hellecian Sector.
Before the Final Hegemony:
During the reign of the Pantheon's Hegemony over the cosmos, the sector comprised of a massive planet with a golden atmosphere known as Karoj-Menos. Everything else in the sector (moons, gas giants, stars) revolved around this God Planet where the Pantheon and its subjects lived.
To travel around this solar system-sized planet, the gods gave their steward Mycestians access to a network of accelerator nodes that allowed for instantaneous travel (what would become the DST Accelerator Lanes).
Following the invasion of Hellestine's children, the two stars circling Karoj-Menos went supernova at the same time due to sabotage from the invaders.
As a result, the twin supernovae shattered the God Planet.
However, an outside force unknown to the Patrokonoi-Hellecia contained the blast and kept the fragments of Karoj-Menos from floating off into space forever. It also meant that debris and explosion fragments created a barrier around the newly-formed Hellecian Sector (called the Kochlyki Shells; Thumb and Wrist Hemispheres respectively).
Like a set of giant hands holding the sector together while preventing anything from leaving.
After the Final Hegemony:
Following the supernovae, star systems of all shapes and sizes formed. Each one knit together by a new web of DST Accelerator Lanes (at least the ones that turned back on).
During the Age of Anarchy, Hellecian raiders would use these networks to pillage and resettle the planets while the corresponding gravity wells of these new star systems would establish a turbulent equilibrium.
Following the repulse of the Perxis-Sadem invasion, the last known change in the topography is when the unknown being holding the sector closed the gap in its hands (where the insectoid swarm snuck through).
Present Regions:
The areas inside the sector will be broken up into the following ring of star clusters:
- Cycladic Remnants (or The Squeeze/Center Ring)
- Attican Core Worlds (or The Gap/Inner Ring)
- Frontier Worlds (or The Shore/Outer Ring)
- The Shackle (or The Shell)
Cycladic Remnants (or The Squeeze/Center Ring)
The Squeeze is the epicenter of the supernovae that destroyed the God Planet. As a result, most of the matter in this region has either been blasted away or irradiated (hence the name "The Squeeze").
It's a place only the riskiest of pirates and criminals would dare pass through (or fewer would hide out there).
What little that can be claimed as matter in this region is considered holy to the Hellecians. It's considered the "spiritual" center of the universe for its role in the destruction of the Gods and the rise of the Patrokonoi-Hellecia.
The end of the Festival of Shattered Gold is signified when an irradiated gold comet made from Karoj-Menos debris passes Neo-Dyloth and enter The Squeeze again to complete is rotation through the Sector again.

Attican Core Worlds (or The Gap/Inner Ring)
The Inner Ring is considered the most habitable region of space. Because of this, the Delots and their allies consider their comparatively small region of space the "material" center of the universe.
This region makes up the Attican Core Worlds and all the colonial governments of the Ionite Flotilla of Space-Faring Colonists (including those in The Thumb; even though it's physically located in The Shackle).
Included in this political affiliation is the Aggrivate Fulcrum: a tiny cluster of who supply the Collective with most of their warships or Star-Decks, located on the edge of The Taygestronese: a massive asteroid field home to the Lanaxdrian Warrior States.
The Attican Core Worlds are the home region of The Delothian Collective: a race of drones with minds and souls uploaded from Archaenids or descendants of Archaenus. It possesses the greatest fleet in the sector and controls the vital DST Accelerator Lanes with their robotic precision. While letting few people ignore this fact.
Controlling trade and information throughout the sector, the Delots drew the map to make themselves the center of the universe. While putting their rivals The Lanaxdrian Warrior States in the Shackle, even though they're located in the Outer Ring.
Regions Located within: Attican Core Worlds, The Ionite Thumb (politically), The Aggrivate Fulcrum & various independent planets.
Greek Archipeligos equivalent: Athens (Attica), southern portion of Euboea & smaller islands surrounding the Cyclades.
Frontier Worlds (or The Shore/Outer Ring)
Filled with infinitely more worlds and star clusters than the two inner rings, The Shore's primary clusters make up at least 70% of Karoj-Menos' expelled landmass. It's in this ring that the tightly packed star cluster sport their unique characteristics.
The biggest region in this ring is The Taygestronese: a massive expanse of tightly packed debris circling a brown dwarf star blocks the south-western quadrant of the sector to nearly all Star-Deck traffic.
Filled with rich mineral resources and home to the Lanaxdrian Warrior States, this range of massive asteroids and space debris makes it impassible to any merchant fleet not given an escort by the Lanaxdrian Di-archy.
And with no accelerator hubs through it, the only way to the other side of the sector is The Kothrian Pass.
Home to a majority of the Professional Guilds of Aeonite Craftspeople, The Kothrian Pass is the only accelerator lane controlled by Aeonite merchants that goes through a narrow sliver of open space above the Taygestronese and below a number of other tightly-packed clusters.
It's a dangerous route berated by flaming space debris thrown from its bordering volcanic planets, irregular gravity wells, resident beasts living in the vacuum of space, and opportunistic raiders by its various nexus points. Even well traveled merchants think twice before entering this flaming tongue.
Moving through the pass going along the Boeton Stables, Thermetolian Wedge, all along The Achillean Quake (formerly the Grove). One would empty out into the Four Pearls: A old alliance of four systems, now taken by the Collective as its only Ionite colonies on the other side of the pass. One of which is Ilocanos-7; the setting for the series' pilot episode.
Above the Pearls is the Karnian Bog, an empty system of gas giants that pulls in the molten remains of the Kothrian Pass into its star cluster.
Above that is the Epressian Commonwealth: a loose collection of three primary star clusters (the Chaonic Coast, the Dodonan Roots & Molastif Collar). The Roots and The Coast are the last two regions considered the Frontier of the Frontier worlds. On the rights side of...
The Bite: a region of contested space with a set of jagged & parallel accelerator lanes marking the border between "civilized" and "uncivilized" space.
Finally, the fringe cluster of the Thessalis Anvil is the industrial center of the sector. Taking the mined resources from around the sector and making them into all kinds of Weaponry, shielding, and Star-Decks needed in the sector.
It's capital planet Thessalis-Prime is considered more valuable than Neo-Dyloth to the control the Collective has over its colonies and allies as hegemon of the sector.
As such events like the Lanaxdrian Revolt happened on Thessalis-Prime, creating an unrepairable rift between the Delots and the Laanxdrians.
Beneath the Hooves are the Boeton Stables and Eubedon Bridge: the bread baskets of the sector. Since most of the planets are burned out husks of Karoj-Menos in need of atmospheric engineering. The Stables and The Plow provide the seed and Myquestrian work animals (former Mycestians) to sow and plant the fields of the newly-cultivated colonies.
The Stables typically favor the Lanaxdrians while the Bridge typically favor the Ionite colonies (and by extension the Delots). However, the two clusters' loyalties have never been in one camp or the other.
By the time of the Taygestronesian Civil War, most shipments of supplies to the Taygestronese were stopped mid transit by their enemies: The Aggrivate Fulcrum. Eventually placing the Stables fully with the Lanaxdrians and the Plow solely with the Delots.
Regions Included within: The Taygestronese, Kothrian Pass, Boeton Stables, Eubedon Plow, Thermetolian Wedge, Achillean Quake, Karnian Bog, Thessalis Anvil, Epressian Commonwealth (Dodonan Roots & Chaonic Coast)
Greek Archipelagos equivalent: Arcadian Peninsula, Corinth, Boeotia, Northern Euboea, Phocis, Locris, Aetolia, Achaea, Acarnania, Leucas/Ithaca/Cephallenia/Zacynthus, Thessaly & Southern Epirus.
The Shackle (or The Shell)
The Final ring is called the Shackle for two reasons: it traps the Hellecians inside the sector with its thick shell of debris and acts as a prison for the undesirables of Hellecian society.
Much of this ring is ruled by raider confederacies from the Age of Anarchy, hideous monsters capable of surviving the vacuum of space, and most notably a quarantined area known as the Barbarous Zone: a place where those infected with Poisoned Femur Madness are sent to live out the final stages of the sickness before transforming into mindless monsters in the Lyxfenoid Brood.
However, much of it is Delot propaganda to label the "haves" from the "have-nots" of Hellecian society. Labeling anyone who lives in The Shackles as full-blooded barbarians.
Inside The Bite is the Molastif Collar, a part of the Epressian Collar and considered the last line of defense if the Lyxfenoid Brood and its criminal element was to escape the Barbarous Zone. While loyal members of the Patrokonoi-Hellecia, most members of the Collar are considered tainted by the Dyasma or metaphysical uncleanness associated with the monsters the Molastifs keep at bay.
Next is the Pellastrom Horns, home of the Pellastradons: a group of shrewd and powerful warriors who (apart from the Molastifs) are considered fully inoculated Hellecians. Their lineage to Aeonia and fear of their retribution secures them rights to eat at the Hellecian table.
Their region's accelerator lanes are the most direct in The Shell, creating two horns that wedge between the Thessalis Hooves and the Dodonan Roots, another with the Alonican Fork/Talons, with its head being the capital planet of Pellastrom.
Forming the border behind the Alonican Fork/Talons and butting up with The Horns is the Thrician Quill: home of the bird-like Thricians.
With one long accelerator lane running the length of the quill with small ones linking smaller worlds, the Thricians are a proud race that are considered a barbarous race at constant war with The Horns over the Fork (when Pellastrom is in control)/Talons (when the Quill is in control)
However, many Hellecians use their barbarous status to keep Thricians as bodyguards and mercenaries able to do things civilized Hellecians are incapable of doing.
Many individual Thricians can be inoculated into the Patrokonoi-Hellecia in recognition for their loyalty.
As for the Alonican Forks/Talons, it's a turbulent area constantly at war with itself and its neighbors. It's accelerator lanes created the three prongs of the region. While not as rich in resources as other regions of the sector, the Forks/Talons is a contested area to prove a symbolic victory over the two warring factions.
At the tip of the Quill and The Ionite Thumb is the Bosporous Spout. A region the Perxis-Sadem entered the sector during their invasion. It is considered a weak point in the shell, where an adventurous explorers have tried to find a way out of the sector.
Many have tried and none have succeeded.
The Ionite Thumb is the ridge of the shell where the Ionite Flotilla of Space-Faring Colonists has heavily colonized for the Collective and floats through The Gap to find new planets to colonize and complete its labors to lift the Curse of Iodium from its people.
Under the thumb is The Rodrian Sling, a region of the sector with unusual gravity wells that its residents use to train themselves into the sector's greatest pilots by steer through asteroid belts and riding gravity slingshots through their turbulent region.
They're also famous for their accuracy with a sling, famous for hurling Marmaro grenades from their slings. Eventually, the Hoplon Militia Corps of many clusters would adopt a version of this to allow their Hoplons to throw grenades without setting down their shields.
Finally, the Ecetrian Maze is the oldest part of the planet that held beings almost as old as the gods themselves on this slender part of The Shell. Many scholars believe creation sprang from this region of space with ruins of countless civilizations built on top of each other.
This part of The Shell is so lifeless and close to the border of the Gap, it's considered to be "civilized."
Eceterius-Prime is a isolated capital almost a sector power by itself with its mineral resources and skilled navy.
However, it's also plagued with the Dactylon Maze: a recurring super weapon developed by the legendary inventor Dactylon. Commissioned to build a vault to hide a family secret, Dactylon and his son Syracilus the First were imprisoned to keep its secrets...a secret.
In response for being imprisoned his son dying in their escape attempt. He build a weapon that blanketed the planet with an impassable Oort Cloud for 100 years.
As a result, the wealthy and powerful would abandon the planet, leaving the poor masters of the abandoned planet. Kept in place by the gravitational rotation of the local bodies, the same forces would push the Oort Cloud out of its orbit. Only to begin its orbit around the sector and return in 50 year increments.
