Vormist

Vormist is a highly diverse island chain, with deep forests, towering mountains, rolling hills and even arid deserted islands in the northeast. Scattered throughout these varied biomes are the Ysoki - called ratfolk by some. Their capital, Sundra, is an impressive city by any standard, and its white marble spires rival even The Citadel in Taranthia.

Geography

Vormist is a highly varied chain of islands, each seemingly subject to its own micro-climate and terrain.
The central island, home of the capital of Sundra, is home to rolling hills and dramatic mountains where the glimmering marble and limestone that make up the city's architecture are mined. Beyond the hills and mountains are rolling plains dominated by farmland - Ysoki are particularly partial to gourds, and can sometimes be seen floating downriver in enormous hollowed out pumpkins.
The western isle is thick deciduous forest, over which sparse mountain peaks can be seen. The forest is difficult to navigate due to its density and steep inclines, but this fact makes it the ideal home for the Monks who live there.
The isles to the north-east are more barren and arid, though still home to several settlements. These islands however have notable deposits of gold.

Natural Resources

Vormist has abundant resources, from the food grown to the stone and minerals mined. Access to these resources has afforded the Ysoki a comfortable life.
