After years of struggling to coexist, The Fostian Civil War begins in earnest.

In what may have appeared to be an act of good faith on the part of the dragonborn, the dragonborn rulers attempted to encourage the local populace to elect a Thanoi mayor. The thanoi, who have always subscribed to a gerontocracy - trusting the judgement of their elders - did not want the leader the dragonborn had selected. This turned into outright violence, and is largely regarded as the beginning of the civil war in earnest.
