Lamashtu (lah-MAHSH-too)
Mother of Monsters, the Demon Queen - CE demon goddess of beasts, monsters, aberrance, nightmares and fertility
For those who revel in the corruption of the pure, or who find themselves spurned and neglected by a world that despises their differences, Lamashtu offers respite among her grotesque brood. The Mother of Monsters readily accepts mortals into her fold and has made it her goal to twist mortal life toward her abhorrent ideals. Her intervention is widely known to inflict corruptions and terrible nightmares. Ostracized individuals who share her ideals will find this intervention a boon, while others treat similar events as horrible curses.
She is called the Demon Mother, the Demon Queen, and the Mother of Monsters, though despite her titles, she is not the creator of the Demon race, merely the first of their kind to achieve true godhood, origin of multiple other Demon Lords, and creator of dozens of races.
Rovagug - God of Destruction
Lamashtu considers Rovagug an enemy, as he would destroy her and her children.
Urgathoa - Goddess of Undeath
In many respects, Lamashtu is a god of life, and she sees Urgathoa's art of creation as perverse.
Origin
The first recorded act of Lamashtu is luring Desna's mentor Curchanus into her territory in the Abyss, and beset him with swarms of demons until he was weak enough for her to attack. She did this to rip his godly domain over beats from him in her pursuits to become a divine and the mother of monsters. It was from Curchanus that Lamashtu learnt that his power of creating beasts would not allow her to make demons, his abilities worked on mortal creatures and animals. Hoping it would lead to her death, Curchanus told Lamashtu:
My power was granted to me by Ithys, through it you would be able to make creatures like my Griffins, only through mortal humanoids or animals, and the Celestials will never allow you to step a foot near the Material Plane, so your plan is for naught.
It was Asmodeous who granted Roshmolem the power to work the Abyss' power with a Soul, and Demons are the result of his experiments.
I have no need to go to the Material, the Abyss is my home. Roshmolem is no fool who would come to me. I will raise an army, go to Abaddon and take from him what I need.

- Redlust - a blade made of sentient fire.

Other Gods
Church
Lamashtu’s church operates on the outskirts of civilization, typically atop flat, bloodstained rocks or within rings of logs, stones, or trees carved with the goddess’s image. Some use a deep hole in the ground or some sort of chasm to represent an entrance to the goddess’s underworld realm. Hidden cathedrals and temples to Lamashtu are unsettlingly common, both in the wilds and below the streets of urban centers. [/container] [/container]Relationships
