Zuru, The Perfect Religion

The Zuru religion is not based on a divine faith but that of perfection. It holds no gods with in its ideology, though many members seek to be god like in some way. There is no one core understanding of perfection and its unique to each person and this drives each member to locate their personal ideals of perfection and seek a path to achieving it.   Mimic Stone: The stone looks like the meteorite that crashed on the island, it's a red iron stone in appearance. A piece of jewelry that is given to children when they are young, as they grow older to adulthood it's up to them to reform and perfect the stone and once reached it is forged into a metal. It symbolizes change and the perfection they seek.   Magic Mutation: It is both a study and a practice in the art of using a meteorite or other means to deform or mutate a body into a desired form. This can range from simple Chitin color changes or form a body to be more desirable but can scaled up to creating new limbs, physical, mental traits and abilities to completely changing or creating new life forms.

Culture

A normal member will fixate on their perfection and trying the best they can achieve it, but if they see others trying to perfect themselves if able they will lend a helping hand.

Public Agenda

Perfection, to help others achieve their ideal perfection and teach those what it means to find their own perfection and achieve it. Some groups might form together and work towards a similar perfection.

Assets

Being a new religion the assets of the Zuru religion are limited with the only notable building is a research library in a sector on the upper layer of Ipey where the meteorite use to be located, it is only a moderate sized place. The wealth of the Zuru religion is a lot less then it was, due to Ette a member stealing the meteorite at the core of the religion and the organization paying hunters and trackers as well as setting rewards for the return of the meteorite or any other meteorite with similar properties. Gentic is currently petitioning in the courts for a grand building to house the meteorite in for more public use and help its mutation properties as well as further the research of magical mutations.

Mythology & Lore

The old legend is of the giant challenging and believing it was better than the Gods and being brought down for its own weakness. The desire for self perfection is what drives the Iphelele and those of the Zuru religion, tales from the giant wanting to be amongst the gods might be the the oldest inspiration for the Zuru religion and the Iphelele as a whole, if only the giant sought to improve themselves to perfection he would never of ever needed to challenge the gods to be like them, they would of sought to be like him.

Divine Origins

The Iphelele were always a perfectionist race and the ideals of improving oneself is the core nature of the Iphelele. The birth of the Zuru religion is a recent development and created in this generation which was brought about by a man Gentic. Gentic is considered different things, like a high priest or a reckless innovator thanks to his ability for magic mutations and a teacher. The meteorite that crashed through Ipey is the core center of the Zuru belief and its mutating properties which has passively been perfecting the Iphelele for generations. Gentic was the first to use the meteorite and create the technique for magical mutations as a way to manipulate the Iphelele bodies and actively use it to benefit himself and those that he taught. While the Zuru religion is about perfecting oneself it holds the view of magic mutations as a core way of doing it.

Tenets of Faith

Seek your own perfection: You need to learn and discover what perfection means to you and how to achieve it.   Don't interfere with others perfection: Disparaging, insulting others trying to achieve or getting in their way of their own perfection is not tolerated. They should be able to freely find their own path even if they might fall down, a helping hand is always welcome though. If one perfection interferes with another this rule stops applying for both parties if they conflict.   Don't be better than others be better than yourself: You aren't perfecting yourself for others only yourself, while nothings wrong in testing your skills you should not rate yourself on someone else.

Priesthood

Gentic is considered a high priest and the defacto leader of the Zuru religion. While the religion itself doesn't necessarily need leaders and there is no reason why others can't appear and start their own secs or take charge of groups the only reason this hasn't happened yet is due to how new the religion is with Gentic heading it.    The same with priests of the Zuru religion, their is no ceremony or any credentials, all you need is will and call yourself one. A priest of the Zuru religion is just a teacher informing others of the way of perfection and helping them along their journey to perfection. Priests have been traveling around skull island and trying to teach the blighted and other villages about self perfection and how magic mutations can improve themselves and their lives but due to previously bad relations a lot of hostilities are surround this. Currently a lot of priests have left Bogmire to travel the world to help teach others about perfection.

Granted Divine Powers

Priests typically have had first hand knowledge and access to the meteorite and its mutating properties before it was stolen. This means they have most likely had some unique boons based of their self perfection ideals through mutations.

Political Influence & Intrigue

Currently the Zuru religion has taken hold of the courts and has more influence there than the elder council swaying public opinion. They are in political conflict with the elder council who they see the religion as an affront to the old way and seek to sabotage and interfere with Zuru religion. The villagers outside of bogmire both the blighted and the normal ones have less tolerant views to the Iphelele but some blighted see a path to regaining normal bodies in the religion.
