The Unsung Isles

Where magic flourishes, and man is thrown to the beasts.

Geography

A majority of the Unsung Isles' landmass is a large grassy plain that is split apart by a mountain in its middle. Due to the meddling of forbidden magics, it has developed many different, sometimes contradictory, features in its sphere of influence. On the main landmass, there are a number of large exposed pools of molten rock that rest opposite to the settlement of humans, Arkivan. As well as a vast set of sandy dunes that contains a multitude of limestone caves and caverns that spring up just a fair way north.   Not connected to the main landmass but within view of the mainland includes several tropical islands, one that is more swampland while the other is more of a volcanic rain forest. As well as a set of smaller islands that were likely once directly a part of the mainland but drifted off a long time ago.   Farther off in the distance is an icy, glacier covered tundra that hasn't been inhabited by anything other than very hardy plants for a long time.

Fauna & Flora

Due to the influx of magical energies that permeate it, this island is home to a vast array of beings, with the most noticeable being the humans that live on the mainland settlement of Arkivan, as well as its smaller port town of Port Puerto. Aside from humans are a number of different species of dragons, including but not limited to wyverns, wyrms, drakes, proper dragons, and coatl. The normal fauna that live on the islands are often quite large, and a good deal more domesticated than what would be seen in the old world, and is generally consistent of what one would find in forests and plains (i.e. bears, boar, wolves, deer, moose, elk, bison, buffalo, cattle, horses, etc.)

Natural Resources

Due to the wide variety of biomes of the mainland and its numerous smaller islands, its resources are highly varied and quite high in amount, with minerals seemingly sprouting out of the ground in grand displays of crystalline formation and plants that are prone to producing so large in amount that they become hard to harvest.
