Dr. Sol Khalil
The Academic Center holds mechanical wonders, houses the tinkering geniuses of Legacy, and is itself a piece of technological advancement and history. And yet Dr. Khalil seems vastly uninterested in all of it, unless it exists to further his own research goals. If he was not cursed to be such a short-lived race, he might have chosen to dedicate himself to a purely arcane solution. Alas, the technological one is what he has on hand… and time is of the essence for Dr. Khalil. He cannot afford distraction, nor can he waste time on fruitless endeavors. A crude solution that is available is to be favored over the elegant solution that may never come to pass.
Often stoic on the outside, Dr. Khalil is no less passionate than his colleagues. His work, however, requires his determination, focus, and intense attention to detail. He cannot allow himself to be diverted by passionate tangents. Given his bull-headed and iron-focus approach to his work, Dr. Khalil must be on Legacy because he needs to be. As a matter of fact, the only safe place on Jalasar is Legacy. And the only place to find a dead god to return to the standing of divinity is on Jalasar. The Church of the Void may believe that they can find a way to “eat” the miasma faster than it can replenish, but there is a tried and true method to remove miasma in one fell stroke: return a god. Of course, such an endeavor has been tried before… but they lacked one key component: a body. For nearly 7 years, Dr. Khalil has worked tirelessly on perfecting spells and rituals as he waits for Ironborn’s labors to prove fruitful. Now, perhaps the time draws near where all of the pieces will slot together.
My great-grandmother's failure does not equate to an objective being impossible. She is not the final arbiter of the arcane... no matter how she might fashion herself as such.
