The Academic Center
Originally, the Floating Tit was an unnecessarily large floating fortress and battleship. It is composed of three separate galleons (with the largest in the center) held together and integrated by an amalgamation of a metal frame vaguely resembling a spider perched upon a metal web. By all logic and reason, the Floating Tit should have been the "Sinking Tit", but its ability to float almost effortless, unperturbed by most waves, is a testament to the technological advances it possessed. In its era, the Floating Tit had state-of-the-art technology and the low hum of its complicated engine array and levitational stabilizers could be heard wherever it saild. Now, as it sits permanently docked on the shores of Legacy, the floating town has been converted to The Academic Center, hub for all research pursuits and technological maintenance.
General Features
- The two flanking galleons each have 5 floors that run from bow to stern, including the main deck (the 5th floor). Two additional floors are above the stern and one additional floor is above the bow.
- The central galleon is slightly larger, featuring a two-floor open hull (bottom floor) and then 4 floors above running bow to stern. Three additional floors are positioned above the stern and an additional floor for the command deck is located above the bow.
- On the exterior, there are clear signs of general wear and tear (the vessel is over 100 years old now) as well as very noticeable battle scars – patchwork wood where repairs were made, scratches and chips in wood and paint, and more.
- Inside, most of the massive ship is unused and, as such, it has accumulated thick layers of dust.
- Most of the technology the ship once possessed has been overhauled. Cannons, ballista, and arcane ward generators have been stripped for parts – only their hollow skeletal frames remain. However, the Arcane Engine Array remains well maintained... even if it hasn't been turned on in decades.
- There is graffiti everywhere. Most of it is a variety of smiley faces with differing features, but there are stick figure scenes scattered about the walls. There are also some unflattering depictions of a merfolk woman.
The Interior
A large gangplank connects the docks of the Shipyard to the massive arched entrance to the two-story Hull of the central galleon. The entranceway features massive mechanical cranes, hooks, tracks, chains, and levers (most of which is now rusted) perhaps once used to haul large items aboard. Once inside, the two-story hull is primarily used as storage neatly labeled with signs. A mixture of stairs and ladders lead up to the second story of the hull and further to the decks above. The second story of the hull has entrances to metal tunnels (the “spider-like limbs”) that connect the central galleon to its flanking galleons. The centrla hull and most of the ship is composed of primarily wood interpersed with metal, as needed.
