Down in the Dark: RPG Session 9
General Summary
“Did we not set off the trap because we held [the little button under the lock]?” “You don’t know. You’d have to open the chest without holding the button to find out.” “Somehow, I’m just going to accept that I don’t know that.” ~A wise choice
Honourable Mention:
“Skeletons are just zombies that don’t got skin anymore.” “That’s…very true. I can say of never thought of it in that terrifying way before.”

What Happened
In the library of the villa, the party began to search for any clues as to why there are so many undead in this place. Gúrda and Geort searched through the mouldering shelves for books on the subject, but found nothing. Daz tried to sense the presence of dark magic, but was unsuccessful. Giving up on the search upon finding no such information, they continued to explore the villa. Their first stop was the servants' quarters, which were empty and devoid of treasure or monsters of any sort. Following that, the group entered the attic, where Melé was injured by the crossbow trap set in that place, although the group was able to defend themselves from the second trap. These traps protected some magical armour, jewelry, potions, and a significant amount of money, which were collected and shared with the group. Next, the party climbed down into the basement, where they were surprised to find a pair of Black Writhers disguised as giant barrels of alcohol. The ensuing combat was very difficult for the party, with Gúrda, Melé and Daz all nearly dying from the flailing tentacles of the demons. In the end, though, the party was triumphant and destroyed the creatures. Following this, the party decided to sleep and regain some of their strength in preparation for an assault on the northern portion of the villa and whatever horrors lie there...Gúrda Thérun
