Terror at Newton Manor

Disaster / Destruction

Spring A.D. 497

At the behest of his wife, Sir Bradwen holds a feast at his manor for his friends and family to lighten spirits in the dark time of the Anarchy. Instead, disaster strikes and Sir Bradwen's lands are ravaged, his wife kidnapped, and Squire Kestrel mutilated. Moreover, Sir Felix cheats on Bradwen's sister during the feast.

At the behest of Lady Rhiannon, Sir Bradwen held a feast at his manor for his friends and family to lighten spirits in the dark time of the Anarchy.   During the feast, the doors of his manor were thrown open and his long lost friend, Sir Brithael, entered with several companions and requested hospitality. Sir Bradwen gladly granted this request, only to discover that Brithael's companions were in fact Lord Gwawl and his knights, who had manipulated Sir Brithael in his madness to seek this end.   Later in the feast, Sir Felix left the feast with a woman and had an affair, not knowing that she was Lady Catrin II, the aunt of his wife Morwena.   Quite suddenly, and the revelers ate and drank, Newton Manor was attacked by a group of knights from Levcomagus. The knights were led by Sir Macsen, cousin of Sir Arfon the wolf knight there to seek revenge for Sir Arfon's slaying. Sir Macson attacked Squire Kestel and put out his eyes as a message to the knights, before retreating from the ravaged manor.   Returning from the fight, Sir Bradwen found Sir Brithael bleeding out on the floor of the manor hall and learned that Lord Gwawl had broken hospitality and kidnapped Rhiannon during the fight. Brithael had tried to protect Rhiannon, but had been unable. With the last of his family's miraculous medicine, Sir Felix healed Brithael, and Bradwen took him into his household.
