Bojanina Koplja (bɔˈjana na ˈkɔplja)
Among the Pozoj of Otok, there is no more sacred relic than Bojanina Koplja, or Bojana's Spear. It is the sacred weapon of Bojana, patron goddess of the island, and was housed in her temple in the city of Kres. The Bojanina Koplja vanished shortly before the city was destroyed by the armies of Vlast. Many of Bojana's worshippers believed that she had taken up the spear to defend them from the invaders, only to be bitterly disappointed by her absence during the battle. Those who survived the sack of Kres believe that Vlast had somehow stolen the Bojanina Koplja, and may even have used it to slay the goddess herself.
The spear was plain and battle-scarred, with an oaken shaft and spearhead of an unknown metal which glowed with the light of the dawn. It was placed in the Temple in Kres by the goddess herself shortly after she had helped defend the Korabovi Islands from the Clarati sorcerers during their purge of Muria. At that time, Bojana made a promise to always defend the Rods of Otok against all invaders, and said that she would take up the spear again in their hour of greatest need. However, Bojana did not appear upon the battlefield to oppose Nabijač and her armies, and the island has fallen to the Empire of Vlast.
The refugees from Cres have sought the spear in the fifteen years since the battle, hoping that with it they can summon the goddess to their aid. Many believe that the Empire will have stored it somewhere in the Temple of Korab on the island of Jelen, but no one has yet been able to return the spear or the goddess to Otok. The Pozoj refugees on the island of Selig have offered a substantial reward to anyone who brings the sphere, and more than one group of adventurers has vanished in this quest.
