The Mesmere Troupe
The Mesmere Troupe is a thieving crew masquerading as an acting troupe. It was founded eighteen years ago by current boss and famous opera singer Orera the Songbird as well as former Fenellore court composer Maestro Flugel. They are currently based in the Blue Crane theatre in Fenellore.
Members
Complete list of members depends upon the heist team's composition.
- Orera (founder). A half-orc opera singer with a love for capers and good reviews.
- Gene (founding member), a halfling and the troupe's stage manager and assistant director.
- Paolina, a rising star in both acting and singing —the young adult human often portrays female leads.
- Arturo, a dramatic actor mostly known for portraying villains.
- Snapping Twig, a sweet kenku and understudy.
- Claudette, a very young human member of the troupe.
- Badger, a very young gnomish member of the troupe.
- Sadie, a teenaged human member of the troupe, going through a standoffish phase.
- Tüm, Runa, and Fren, all of whom help with set design/props, and fill ensemble roles.

Plays known
The following plays are a common part of the Mesmere Troupe's repertoire:- Photine, a short and largely improvisational play about early religious myth.
- Kerra & Marcellus, a moderate-length chivalric romance about a paladin of Lukonna and a princess.
- Harrowing of Faede Pinnacle, a revenge play about a prince who swaps places with a lookalike, only to end up wrongfully imprisoned for nine years —this play was just performed in Fenellore, to high acclaim.
- Three Cups and a Spade, a three act comedy full of particular wordplay, quick dialogue, and narration delivered through opera.
- The Mist's Teeth, a five act hero's quest through the Mistlands. Contains fun puppetry and SFX.
History
The Mesmere Troupe was founded by popular soprano Orera the Songbird, and former Fenellore court composer, Constance Flugel, in 1348. As of the beginning of the Mesmere Troupe Campaign, the troupe recently performed Orera's favourite play, Harrowing of Faede Pinnacle, for the Winter Sunstead (the 18th of the Woodhew), to critical acclaim. As a result, they are subject to a surge of popularity.
